The new Gran Destino Tower at Disney's Coronado Resort - Walt Disney World
We went to the opening weekend of the Gran Destino Tower. The experience had some ups and downs. Overall we enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in a waterfront room, which was exquisite.
The grounds are beautiful and the elevators change the way you experience an elevator ride. You never need to hold the door for someone again.
We went to the top floor and tried out the Dahlia lounge. It had some interesting things going on tv's there but if you went out on the balcony, you can see the Epcot and Hollywood Studios fireworks at night. You can also see Animal Kingdom and the back side of Everest.
The restaurant at the top is called Toledo. We had some wonderful food items at the Spanish inspired restaurant. We got Pan con Tomate' Tomato Bread (grilled bread, crushed tomato, olive oil, garlic), Charred Octopus with romesco and chimichurri,Plant-based 'Seafood' - Chefs' vegan presentation of classic seafood presentations - crab cakes, calamari, scallops, citrus-infused couscous, Scallops with fava hummus, olives, harissa vinaigrette, roasted carrots, yogurt powder, and Plant-based Chocolate-Avocado Mousse with a strawberry-basil sorbet and coconut crumble.
The best lounge of them all is the Barcelona Lounge. We had some incredible food there. We got Lentil Hummus - Arbequina Oil and Pumpkin Seeds served with Sourdough (vegan when ordered without the yogurt topping) and A Taste of Barcelona, which includes Marinated Manchego, Aceitunas, and Marcona Almonds served with Sourdough.
Other amazing places at Disney's Coronado Springs Resorts that we tried was Three Bridges. There we got Stuffed mushrooms with plant based 'chorizo, smoked tomato aioli, and vegan Parmesan, Curry lentil hummus with pumpkin crackers and pita and Fried Shrimp Corn Dogs with a lemon aïoli and french fries with a remoulade
The quick service location at Disney's Coronado is El Mercado de Coronado. We did not have a pleasant experience trying their options.
